Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior (4 + years of experience) / Staff (8-10+ years of experience) Software Engineer who can build and scale backend systems powering our cybersecurity intelligence platform. You will work across the full backend stack — APIs, data pipelines, search, cloud infrastructure, and AI-driven automation (Agentic AI).
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain high-performance Python applications and services
• Architect distributed systems and microservices with scalability and reliability in mind
• Develop and own RESTful APIs using FastAPI, following clean architecture principles
• Apply OOP principles and design patterns to build scalable, maintainable systems
• Build and maintain data collection pipelines including web scraping and third-party integrations
• Handle large-scale data processing and batch jobs efficiently
• Work with MongoDB for data modeling, indexing, and query optimization
• Write complex SQL queries and perform database performance tuning and query optimization at scale
• Integrate and manage Elasticsearch for indexing, search, and analytics use cases
• Deploy and operate services on AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, SQS, ECS, etc.)
• Set up and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting using CloudWatch and related tools
• Debug and troubleshoot production issues with a structured and methodical approach
• Write clean, well-tested code — unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Profile and optimize Python applications with an eye on memory and performance
• Apply secure coding practices — input validation, secrets management, and security-first thinking
• Build and maintain AI agents and LLM-integrated workflows
• Write technical design documents for new features and systems
• Break down ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable technical tasks
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, QA, and DevOps teams
• Take end-to-end ownership of features — from design to deployment to monitoring
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to code reviews

Requirements
• 4-12 years of professional Core Python development in building products from scratch
• Proven experience in system design and distributed architecture — microservices, event-driven systems, API design best practices
• Deep understanding of Core Python — internals, concurrency, async/await, generators, decorators, List comprehension, and memory management (reference counting, GC, object lifecycle)
• Strong OOP skills — inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation, abstraction, and SOLID principles
• Practical knowledge of Design Patterns — Singleton, Factory, Observer, Strategy, Repository, and others as applicable
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI for building production-grade APIs
• Experience with web scraping frameworks (e.g., Scrapy, BeautifulSoup, Playwright)
• Practical MongoDB experience — schema design, aggregation pipelines, indexing
• Solid SQL skills — complex queries, joins, indexing, query optimization, and schema design at scale
• Experience with Elasticsearch — indexing strategies, query DSL, performance tuning
• Solid AWS experience — serverless, compute, storage, and messaging services
• Experience with CloudWatch for logging, monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility
• Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex production issues independently
• Knowledge of secure coding practices — input validation, secrets management, and handling sensitive data
• Experience designing and running large-scale data processing and batch workloads
• Comfortable working in Linux environments and with shell scripting
• Familiarity with building AI agents and working with LLM APIs
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Strong ability to write technical design documents
• Ability to break down ambiguous, open-ended requirements into clear technical tasks
