Senior Frontend Developer (Electron + React)
Phoenix Repair POS · Remote (US Central overlap, UTC−6) · Full-Time · [Salary Range: 6 – 10 LPA]
A point-of-sale software platform for independent repair shops.
Experience Required: 4-8 years of experience
The Role
You’ll work closely with our backend developer, who is also the team lead, to design the application’s architecture, views, and CSS. By “closely,” we mean that we discuss each implementation decision together before building it.
The application is a point-of-sale system with external integrations, inventory management, user roles, and CRM functionality.
• The backend already exists and is fairly mature, though it hasn’t been released yet. Its API evolves alongside—and is often driven by—the frontend’s needs.
• The team currently consists of one other person and will grow over time as needed.
Tech Stack
• Electron
• React
• TypeScript
• Tailwind CSS (though we’re open to replacing it with hand-written CSS)
• API clients generated with Hey API from multiple OpenAPI specifications
• Backend: Swift — you won’t need to write backend code, but you’ll help shape the API
You Should Be
• Well-versed in Electron and the IPC orchestration that comes with it.
• Strong in React, including render behavior, TanStack Router and TanStack Table, sourcing state from external shared resources (via IPC and external services), and debugging complex issues.
• Able to communicate technical decisions clearly and support your reasoning with evidence.
• Self-sufficient and trustworthy. When asked how state operates across different views, you understand the architecture well enough to answer confidently.
• Resilient when errors occur—a bug isn’t a reflection of your abilities. You investigate the issue and propose effective solutions.
• Experienced at the senior level, with a track record of shipping or maintaining production applications over the long term.
Nice to Have
• Point-of-sale or e-commerce experience
• Server-side Swift experience
• PostgreSQL 17 or later
• DevOps experience and openness to adopting new tools
Details & Process
• Interview Process: 1:1 conversations, coding exercises, and technical discussions.
• External references will be checked for shortlisted candidates.
