Job Summary

The Standard is seeking a Front-End Software Engineer II with deep expertise in Angular to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Product Analysts, Scrum Masters, Back-End Engineers, Software Developers in Test, Data Engineers, DevOps / Site Reliability Engineers, and UX Designers to build scalable, modern backend services that power enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong Angular, JavaScript, and TypeScript programming skills and REST API integration experience to drive innovation and efficiency in building enterprise-grade solutions.

As a Front-End Software Engineer, you will work with general instructions on routine tasks to build highly scalable and reliable UIs, services, and applications using Angular, JavaScript, and TypeScript to deliver digital capabilities to customers. You will develop intuitive, user‑friendly interfaces in Angular to ensure seamless user experiences and contribute to innovation by advancing best‑in‑class software engineering patterns and methodologies that can transform business processes. You will use JavaScript, Angular, and TypeScript to develop front ends with our in‑house design system based on web components to ensure a consistent look and feel for customers. Additionally, you will develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure scalable, reliable, and efficient deployments, working within Azure DevOps and GitHub to support streamlined development workflows.

Skills And Background You’ll Need

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems is required.

Experience: Typically requires 2+ years of related experience.

• Strong skills in implementing front-end design patterns using frameworks like Angular or React
• Experience optimizing UI applications for speed, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility
• Experience pre-processing multi-modal data (text, images) to handle user input, cleaning, and formatting text
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes on the Azure platform
• Experience developing and implementing in Microsoft Azure
• Experience implementing or working with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
• Working within an Agile delivery / DevOps methodology to deliver proof of concept and production implementation in iterative sprints
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Strong data background with experience in integrating with databases (SQL and NoSQL) preferred
• Experience configuring and implementing Azure Application Gateway and API management solutions as Kong Konnect preferred
• Experience working with event-driven publish-subscribe solution patterns using solutions like Azure Event Hub or Kafka, and developing end-to-end orchestrations is preferred
